Manuel Polin announces debut EP, ‘Llanto Santo’

“Llanto Santo,” Mexican poet Manuel Polin’s debut EP, reveals a pensive remembrance of his heritage as told through a poetry sketchbook. The audiovisual experience blends the poet’s emotional lyricism, ambient sounds and nostalgic visuals with poetry and Latin American folk at its core.

With a timeless aesthetic resonant of cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa, Manuel recalls the Mexico of his grandparents’ day, the country’s black and white 1940-50s cinema, and the hypnotic landscapes of its Altiplano Region. Lo-fi soundscapes prompt spiritual introspection, furthered by the EP’s illustrations channelling Dante's The Divine Comedy.

Like this, Llanto Santo combines music, imagery and words towards something cosmic: an otherworldly tribute to desire, connection, and looking back. The EP’s four singles will be released from February via Spotify and most major streaming services.
